My friend Anna (artist name Born Again Virgin) and I met in... middle school? (high school at the latest) representing our respective small town schools at ATSSB region band. I've been a fan of her creative output for as long as I've known her, and we've worked together a handful of times over the years. Mostly she brought me on as an engineer for some Born Again Virgin projects, and back in 2022 we released a trans-Atlantic ambient collaboration. When Anna came home to visit earlier this year, we recorded our first collaboration as lingren and Born Again Virgin - a cover of The Flaming Lips' "Waitin' for a Superman." We leaned heavily on my Tascam M-216 and Portastudio, working with the goal of making those pieces of gear sound as good as we could while still letting them be what they are. We ended up with something beautiful and organic, lofi and alive.
